How is it made?

Making an end grain cutting board is a fairly straight forward process. Good machine setup is essential as it helps you get clean, flat, straight edges that glue-up nicely. I’ll walk you through the steps:

  1. Generate the design you’d like to make.
  2. Gather the material you’ll be using.
  3. Go from rough sawn lumber to cutting board parts. (ie, mill and plane the lumber)
  4. Glue up #1.
  5. Cross cut the strips.
  6. Glue up #2.
  7. Route the edges.
  8. Sand. Sand. Sand.
  9. Apply the finish.
