How is it made?
Making an end grain cutting board is a fairly straight forward process. Good machine setup is essential as it helps you get clean, flat, straight edges that glue-up nicely. I’ll walk you through the steps:
- Generate the design you’d like to make.
- Gather the material you’ll be using.
- Go from rough sawn lumber to cutting board parts. (ie, mill and plane the lumber)
- Glue up #1.
- Cross cut the strips.
- Glue up #2.
- Route the edges.
- Sand. Sand. Sand.
- Apply the finish.
